Odisha Law Minister Raghunath Mohanty resigns after daughter-in-law files dowry case against him
A senior Odisha minister, Raghunath Mohanty, resigned on 16 Marchi 2013, after his daughter-in-law accused him of torturing her for dowry. Mr Mohanty's daughter-in-law, Barsa Swony Choudhury lodged a written complaint at the district headquarters town of Balasore, about 215 km from Bhubaneswar, alleging that the minister and his family wanted a dowry of Rs. 25 lakh and a multi-utility vehicle.
Sundar Pichai to take over as Google's Android chief from Andy Rubin
Google on 13 March 2013 , announced that Andy Rubin, who was heading the company's Android division, is stepping down. He will be replaced by SundarPichai, an IITian, who also heads Google's Chrome division.
Mukesh Ambani to exit board of Bank of America
Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani will step down as the board of director of Bank of America and instead join its global advisory council. Ambani has decided not to seek another term on the bank's board at its 2013 annual meeting of stockholders.He has served on the Bank of America board since March 2011 and became a director prior to the establishment of the global advisory council.
Dr Reddy's Laboratories Founder, Kallam Anji Reddy Died
On March 15, Kallam Anji Reddy, the main behind Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd (DRL), the second-largest drugmaker of India died at Hyderabad. Anji Reddy was the founder and chairman of DRL. He died because of liver cancer.He served as the member on Prime Minister's Council on Trade & Industry. Anji Reddy was honoured with Padma Bhushan, the highest Civilian Award in India, in April 2011.
Li Keqiang Appointed as China's new Prime Minister
On 15 March Li Keqiang elected as China's new Prime Minister.Li Keqiang was elected by about 3,000 deputies of the National People's Congress (NPC).Li received 2,940 votes out of 2,949 cast, a 99.69 percent vote share, slightly lower than Xi's.
