Government Constitutes Committee To Inquire Cause of Gas Leakage In Bhilai Steel Plant
The Government has constituted an independent High Level Committee to inquire about the cause of gas leakage in Bhilai Steel Plant on 12 June 2014. The Committee headed by its Chairman, Shri K.K. Mehrotra, former CMD, MECON, will have three members, Shri K.A.P. Singh, Former M.D. Bokaro Steel Plant, Shri S. B. Mathur, Director General, Directorate General of Factory Advice Service & Labour Institute (DGFASLI), Mumbai and Dr. Soumitra Tarafder, Chief Scientist, National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), Jamshedpur. The Committee has been asked to submit its report by 17 July 2014

Tang Prize Foundation announced the inaugural Tang Prizes 2014. The inaugural Tang Prizes has been given in the some important categories like Sustainable Development, Sinology, Bio-pharmaceutical Science and The Rule of Law. Taiwanese Business Magnate, Samuel Yin founded Tang Prize Foundation in December 2012. The Tang prize is the first international academic award to be based in Taiwan and commenced its inaugural year in 2014. Winners of Tang Prize 2014 : - * Gro Harlem Brundtland former Premier of Norway won Tang prize 2014 for Sustainable Development. * Chinese American, Historian Yu Ying-shih won Tang prize 2014 for Sinology. * James P Allison of US and Tasuku Honjo of Japan won Tang prize 2014 for Biopharmaceutical Science categories. * Albie Sachs, former justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa won Tang prize 2014 for The Rule of Law.
