Odisha government appointed senior IAS officer Madhusudan Padhi as the principal secretary to Governor Dr Ganeshi Lal. Padhi replaced CJ Venugopal as the principal secretary to the Governor.

Junior Asian Wrestling Championship
India won 8 medals in the two day Junior Asian Wrestling Championship which concluded in New Delhi. The medals comprised 2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze. Sachin Rathi won the gold after winning the bout in the 74-kilogram category. Deepak Punia then won the gold in the 86 kilogram category.
Jonathan Gold passes away
Pulitzer Prize-Winning food critic, Jonathan Gold, has passed away at the age of 57. In 2007, he became the first food critic to win the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism.
