Former Italian PM Berlusconi Sentenced To Seven Years

On 24 June 2013,Silvio Berlusconi was given a seven-year prison sentence and banned from holding public office for life after an Milan court found him guilty of abuse of office and paying for sex with an underage prostitute.The sex trial, which lasted more than two years, lifted the lid on the “bunga bunga” parties Mr Berlusconi began organising at his mansion outside Milan in 2010 .


Dhoni Named Captain Of  ICC Team Of  The Tournament

On 24 June 2013 , Mahendra Singh Dhoni was  named captain of the ICC's Team of the Champions Trophy.The team includes Dhoni, Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar - two Englishmen, Jonathan Trott and James Anderson, as well as Pakistan's Misbah-ul-Haq, Kumar Sangakkara from Sri Lanka, South Africa's Ryan McLaren and New Zealand's Mitchell McClenaghan.


U.S. Secretary Of State John Kerry Visited India

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry visited India from 23 - 25 June 2013.During the visit Kerry co-chaired the fourth India-US Strategic Dialogue with External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and discussed on bilateral trade, defence and security cooperation besides energy and higher education ,including India's relations with Pakistan.On 24 June Kerry also met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi.Both have discussed issues of mutual interest.This is Kerry's first visit in India after his appointment as the US Secretary of State.


" 1857-1947: Forgotten Heroes and Martyrs of India’s Freedom Movement " Book Released

On 24 June The book titled, "1857-1947: Forgotten Heroes and Martyrs of India’s Freedom Movement", is written by journalist Shivnath Jha was launched on 24 June 2013 in Mumbai by former Bombay High Court chief justice C S Dharmadhikari.The book will act as a campaign to highlight the miserable conditions of descendants and families of freedom fighters as well as an attempt to bring about a change.
