President Appointed Governors of Four States
President of India, Pranab Mukherjee on 26 August appointed Governors of four states, namely Rajasthan, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa. People, who have been appointed as the Governors by the President are:- * Kalyan Singh as the Governor of Rajasthan; * Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala as the Governor of Karnataka; * Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao as the Governor of Maharashtra; * Mridula Sinha as the Governor of Goa. The above appointments will take effect from the dates the incumbents assume charge of their respective offices.
RN Ravi Appointed As New Chief of Joint Intelligence Committee
RN Ravi, a 1976 batch IPS officer from Kerala, who retired in 2012 as special director of IB, was appointed as the new chief of Joint Intelligence Committee. The committee analyzes intelligence gathered by various intelligence agencies like IB and RAW. It operates under the National Security Council Secretariat.
