Oscar Awards 2017 Lala Land won maximum awards

The 89th Academy Awards, popularly called Oscar Awards, were conferred on 27 February 2017 as per the Indian Time. The Award ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Los Angel Comedian Jimmy Kimmel hosted the awards ceremony. The nominees for the 89th Oscar Awards were announced on 24 January 2017, Via global live stream from the Academy. Movie LaLa Land received the most nominations with a record tying fourteen.


Gulfood 2017 event in Dubai

The World’s largest annual food event, Gulfood 2017 was officially inaugurated by the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoums at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) on 26 February 2017. The five-day exhibition, which will continue till 2 March, 2017, is expected to witness participation from over 90,000 food professionals from 150 countries across the world.


Gopi, Athre Win Men’s and Women’s Races in New Delhi Marathon

Rio Olympian Thanackal Gpoi and Monika Athare won the men’s and Women’s titles in the second edition of the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon. Gopi who ran without much practice early in the Season Clocked 2 hours, 15 minutes and 37 seconds to win the full marathon race. In Women’s full marathon, Monika Athare from Nasik Completed the race in 2 hours, 39 minutes and 8 seconds to win the race.


Saina Nehwal to represent Olympic Committee in BWF

Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal, who was appointed a member of the International Olympic committee’s Athletes. Commission in 2016. Now she would to representing Olympic Committee’s panel in the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Currently, ranked world number 10 in BWF rankings, Saina is aiming to won in the All England Championship in next Month.


Chandra Shekhar Azad’s martyrdom day observed on 27 February

Chandra Shekhar Azad, the Indian revolutionary freedom fighter was in news on 27 February 2017. He came in news on his 86th martyrdom day. On this day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Chandra Shekhar Azad. Modi said, we can never forget his valour and ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
