Kevin Rudd Sworns As Australian PM For Second Time

On 27 June Kevin Rudd was sworn in as Australia’s prime minister for second time ,replaced Julia Gillard who was removed in a Labor Party caucus vote.He was sworn in at Government House in Canberra by Governor General Quentin Bryce.Now Kevin Michael Rudd is the 28th Prime Minister of Australia, as well as Leader of the Labor Party.


Union Govt Banned Anti-Diabetes Drug Pioglitazone and Painkiller Analgin The Union government has banned three major medicines - the widely prescribed anti-diabetes drug pioglitazone, painkiller analgin and anti-depressant deanxit.The decision to ban the drug was taken in wake of health risks associated with them.


NASA’s Kepler Discovered Two New Planets

On 27 June NASA’s Kepler Telescope has discovered two new planets orbiting Sun-like stars in a cluster, about 3,000 light-years from the Earth.It would seem an unlikely place to find alien worlds within such rich and dense clusters, where stars jostle for room with thousands of neighbours.Yet 3,000 light-years from Earth, in the star cluster NGC 6811, astronomers found the two planets smaller than Neptune orbiting Sun-like stars.


Japan Scientists Clone A Mouse From A Single Drop Of Blood

On 27 June Riken BioResource Center, scientists in Japan have cloned a mouse from a single drop of blood.The cloned mouse is a female, and was created using blood from the tail of a living donor mouse, who was unharmed by the procedure.The cloned animal lived a normal lifespan and was able to give birth.


Two Year Old Boy Becomes Youngest Ever To Join Mensa On 27 June A two-year-old boy Adam Kirby in UK has become the youngest ever member of the genius club Mensa, after he scored an incredible 141 on an IQ test.Adam Kirby scored 141 in the IQ test that reportedly ranked him smarter than US President Barack Obama and British Premier David Cameron.Adam Kirby was invited to join the elite group after demonstrating his ability to read Shakespeare and understand Japanese, Spanish and French.
