On March 28,Famed actor Richard Griffiths, known for his role as Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter series, has passed away at age 65 from complications following heart surgery in USA.“I was proud to say I knew him,” Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe commented about his death.
83 buried in Tibet mine area landslide
On March 29, 83 mine workers buried by a landslide at a gold mine on the outskirts of Maizhokunggar county of Lhasa,the regional capital. The victims were workers from Tibet Huatailong Mining Development Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of the China National Gold Group Corporation.

Subbarao to attend IMF conference
Reserve Bank of India Governor D. Subbarao will share his perspective at an IMF (International Monetary Fund) conference in Washington D.C. on April 2013. The conference will discuss policy pursued by various governments in the aftermath of the global financial crisis.The conference on ‘Rethinking macro policy II: first steps and early lessons’ will take place at the IMF’s Headquarters on April 16 and 17.Dr. Subbarao will chair the session, on April 17, on capital account management.
