Two Indian-Americans Jointly Won Scripps National Spelling Bee Championship

Two Indian-American school boys Sriram J Hathwar and Ansun Sujoe jointly won the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee Championship in the U.S. This was for the first time since 1962 that Scripps National Spelling Bee ended in a tie. This is the seventh consecutive year that Indian-Americans have retained the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Scripps National Spelling Bee is the most famous spelling competition for school students of the US.


Former Intelligence Bureau Chief Ajit Doval Appointed as National Security Advisor

Former Intelligence Bureau Chief Ajit Kumar Doval was on 30 May appointed as the National Security Advisor (NSA) to Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. Ajit Doval is a former chief of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) during the earlier NDA regime of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Doval replaces Shivshankar Menon.
