Rajaraman Chosen For ' Leo Szilard Lectureship ' Award
The American Physical Society has chosen Dr. R. Rajaraman, an Emeritus Professor of Physics from the School of Physical Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, for the ‘2014 Leo Szilard Lectureship Award’.The Award was established to recognize outstanding accomplishments by physicists for the benefit of society.
Pakistan Won Under-19 Asian Rugby Championship 2013
Pakistan has won the Asian Under-19 Rugby Championship on 5 October in Lahore, after defeated India in the final .At the end of the first half, both teams' scores were on par at 8- 8. However, in the second half, Pakistani team played more confidently and aggressively and won five more points for them while Indians could get only three more points.
S R Bansal is new Chairman of Corporation Bank
S.R. Bansal took over as the new Chairman and Managing Director of Corporation Bank.Before that, he was an Executive Director at Punjab National Bank. He started his banking career as a direct officer recruit at Dena Bank in 1981 and went on to hold the office of the Field General Manager (North India) covering eight States. He was appointed as the Executive Director of Punjab National Bank in June 2012.
