Manohar Parrikar Resigns As Goa Chief Minister

Manohar Parrikar, who is tipped to be inducted in the Union Cabinet which will be expanded on 9 November 2014, resigned as Goa chief minister on 8 November 2014. He served as the Chief Minister of Goa from 2000 to 2005, and later from March 2012 to November 2014.


Laxmikant Parsekar Is New Goa Chief Minister

Laxmikant Parsekar was sworn-in as the new Chief Minister of Goa on 8 November 2014. Parsekar, who was health minister in the Parrikar cabinet, was administered oath of office and secrecy by Goa governor Mridula Sinha at a ceremony in Raj Bhavan. He becomes the coastal state's 11th chief minister.


Shakib Al Hasan Scores 100 and Takes 10 wickets In same Test Match

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has become only the third player in history to take 10 wickets and score a century in a Test match. The record was created in the second Test with Zimbabwe which Bangladesh won by 162 runs. Shakib, who hit 137 in the first innings, joined England's Ian Botham and Pakistan's Imran Khan to take 10 wickets and score a century in a test. Botham and Imran both accomplished the feat in 1980 Tests against India.
