Mao Zedong's granddaughter Kong Dongmei on rich list
Mao Zedong is a renowned Communist leader and the founder of the People's Republic party in China.His grand daughter Kong Dongmei got place in the China's richest 500 people list published by New Fortune Magazine .In this list she got 242 place.According to "South Morning Post" magazine her joint wealth with her husband and Mao's third wife, He Zizhen is around five billion yuan ($814 million).
The new Navy patrol ship Rani Avantibayi
Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Rani Avantibai’, the second Inshore Patrol Vessel (IPV) built by the Hindustan Shipyard Ltd for the Coast Guard. This was commissioned into Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam on 9 May 2013 by Minster of State for Defence Jitendra Singh in the presence of Director-General of Indian Coast Guard Vice-Admiral Anurag G. "Viranari Rani Avantibayi" is the inshore patrol vessels (IPV) in Madhya Pradesh for Ramgadh Coast Guard.This is used in Tracking thieves, coastal conservation, marine disaster relief efforts.This is the first in the series of five inshore patrol vessels (IPV) built by the Hindustan Shipyard Limited for the Coast Guard.
Union Cabinet of India declared Year 2013 as Water Conservation Year 2013
The Union Cabinet of India on 9 May 2013 gave its approval to declare the year 2013 as Water Conservation Year 2013 Under which awareness programmes will be launched for conservation of the scarce natural resource.
Amendments in the Parliament (Prevention of Disqualification) Act, 1959 Approved
On 9 May 2013,the Union Cabinet gave its approval for amendments in the Parliament (Prevention of Disqualification) Act, 1959 by introducing of a Bill in Parliament, namely, the Parliament (Prevention of Disqualification) Amendment Bill, 2013.
Union Government of India Approved Policy Development of Aviation Hubs in India
The Union Government of India on 9 May 2013 approved the policy development of aviation hubs in India. Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari announced that the Inter-Ministerial Committee will be developed that will work out on different models for this policy.
Government Launches The World Bank Assisted ISSNIP
On 9 May Union Minister for Women & Child Development, Krishna Tirath launched the World Bank assisted ICDS Systems Strengthening and Nutrition Improvement Project (ISSNIP) at New Delhi.The programme aims at improving child development and nutritional outcomes for children in selected districts having higher proportional of child under nutrition. Total size of the project is Rs. 2893 crore with 70 percent IDA share of Rs. 2025 crore (USD$ 450 million) over 7 years. The estimated cost of phase 1 of the project is about US$ 151.50 million (Rs. 682 crore) of which US$ 106 million is the IDA share (70 percent).
Former Congress MLA Rukminibai Waje no more
On May 9,Rukminibai Vithal Waje, a former Maharashtra MLA, died after a prolonged illness at Sinnar near Nashik.She was the first woman MLA of Congress from Sinnar. Her son Hemant Waje is a former Sinnar Municipal Council President.
