UP CM to declare no school bag day on Saturdays in Govt schools

The UP Government is planning to declare no school bag day on Saturdays in all the state run schools. The proposal for the same was submitted at a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma on 12 May 2017 in Lucknow. The move aims to encourage more involvement of Children in creative activities on those no school bad day. It will also help establish a good rapport between students and teachers and help in their personality development.


Kerala tops, Bihar last in Public Affair Index

Kerala has secured first rank and Bihar has ranked and Bihar has ranked last on this year’s Public Affairs Index (PAI), compiled on basis of a survey by Bengaluru based think tank Public Affairs Centre (PAC). The survey was based on 10 themes, 26 focus subjects and 82 indicators. It was released by former Chief Justice of India MN Venkatachaliah, Former Karnataka Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde, Director of Public Affairs Centre (PAC) G. Guru Charan and former Chief Secretary of Rajasthan C.K. Mathew were also present at the event.


ISKCON’s Govardhan Eco Village wins Smart Village Award

Maharashtra’s Govardhan Eco Village has  won the “Smart Village” Award for being a sustainable project in rural Maharashtra. The “India Trade Promotion Organisation” (ITPO)’s award was received by Nimai Lila Das to Chief Sustainability Officer of Govardhan Eco Village, in New Delhi on May 13, 2017. Eco Village was set up by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in adjoining Thane district.


India Claim 2 Medals At World Para Athletics Grand Prix

India Claimed a gold medal and a bronze medal and a bronze medal at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix held in Beijing, China, Ramudu Someshwara Rao, who became the fastest Indian blade runner in the recently conducted 17th National Para Athletics Championships at Jaipur, won a gold medal in the 200 m race at World Para Athletics Grand Prix, Beijing. Shot Putter Hokato Sema who also won gold at 17th National Para Athletics Championships at Jaipur, won bronze at World Para Athletics Grand Prix Beijing.
