Arjun Maini becomes the first Indian to win GP3 Race
Arjun Maini became the first Indian driver to win a GP3 Race when he won the sprint race at the circuit de catalunya, Barcelona. The 19 years old scored his first win in two years while finishing six seconds ahead of Frenchman Dorian Boccolacci and teammate Alessio Lorandi of Italy. Edouard Philippe named as Prime Minister of France
French President Emmanuel Macron on 15 May, 2017 named Edouard Philippe as Prime Minister of France. Philippe comes from the ranks of a center right party outside Macron’s own movement. Philippe is a member of the Les Republican’s party and is close to Alain Juppe, the former Prime Minister who endorsed Macron after he won the first round of the Presidential election. He has also served as mayor of Le Havre in France.
India Ranks 26 in World Bank Power List
India to be ranked 26th in World Bank’s electricity accessibility list in the current year from 99th spot in 2017. Out of the 15,452 villages which lacked electricity, over 13,000 villages has been provided access to electricity. The flagship scheme Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with as aim to provide 24×7 uninterrupted electricity supply to each rural household across the country by 2022.

The partnership of Deepti Sharma and Poonam Raut scored 320 in 45.3 overs to become the World’s first ever first Wicket Partnership , to achieve a 300 – run opening wicket Partnership in One-Day Internationals (ODI’s). The earlier best Partnership for the first wicket in Men’s Cricket was 286 scored by Sri Lanka’s Upul Tharanga and Sanath jayasuriya against England in 2006. Deepti Sharma did 188 runs and Poonam Raut did 109 runs in the Match against Ireland Women’s Team.
Aravind Kumar Rengan bags INSA Young Scientist Award
Aravind Kumar Rengan, Assistant Professor in Department of Biomedical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT – H) Hyderabad has been awarded the prestigious Indian National Science Academy (INSA) medal in the Young Scientist Category for 2017. Prof Aravind has been awarded the medal for devising. A novel way of nano delivery using liposomes and gold nano particles which is useful for both imaging and therapeutics.
National Dengue Day May 16, 2017
The Government of India has declared 16th May as National Dengue Day by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India. Dengue is a viral Disease that is transmitted by the bite of Aedes Mosquito. Dengue has symptoms such as high grade fever 2 to 7 days and headache, Vomiting, muscle and joint pains and Characteristic Skin rash. The disease is endemic in More than 100 countries in the WHO regions of Africa, the America, the Eastern Mediterranean, South East Asia and the Western Pacific.
