North Korea has claimed that the missile Hwasong - 12 it tested on 15 May, 20107 was a new type of rocket capable of carrying a large nuclear warhead. The missile, launched at a steep angle, reached an altitude of 2111.5 km (1312 miles) and travelled about 787 km (490 miles), landing in the sea west of Japan. North Korea is believed to be developing an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and reaching the main lands in USA.
