World Metrology Day is observed every year on 20 May. Metrology Plays a Central role in Scientific discovery and innovation, industrial manufacturing and international Trade, in improving the quality of life and in Protecting the global environment. The 2017 theme is Measurements for Transporte. World Metrology Day is an international annual event that marks the signing of the Meter Convention on 20 May 1875 by representatives of seventeen nations.
