Senior IPS officer Yogesh Chander (YC) Modi took charge as the Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Modi succeeds Sharad Kumar, who retired on 30 Octotber 2017. Modi is an IPS officer of the 1979 batch of the Haryana cadre.
