Hamilton beats Vettel to win his fifth Chinese Grand Prix:

Mercedes’ British Formula one racer Lewis Hamilton defeated Ferraris four-time formula one World Champion Sebastian Vettel to lift his fifth little at the Chinese Grand Prix on 9 April 2017. Red Bull team males Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo finished third and fourth respectively in Shanghai. Sahara Force India’s Sergio perez finished the race in the ninth place.


North India to get DNA bank for wild life:

The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh is going to set up a DNA bank for wild life, first of its kind in North India. Researchers at the institute are in the process of collecting the DNA of all wild animals. They have up until now collected samples of around 140 species. The bank would be only next to Hyderabad’s Laboratory for the conservation of Endangered species (LACONES), which is currently the only such facility in India.


PM to launch Digital Exhibition on Champaran Satyagraha:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a digital exhibition in the national capital on 10 April 2017, to mark the 100 th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagraha. The PM will also address the gathering after the launch at the National Archives. The exhibition titled “Bapu Ka Karyanjali” will not only focus on the champaran movement, but with this event the govt is planning to re-emphsise the importance of cleanliness, which was close Mahatma Gandhi’s heart and was also a key element of the movement.


NBA Launches International Basketball Schools Network in Mumbai:

NBA Basket ball schools open to young male and female players; Top players at each basket ball school will have oppourtunity to attend NBA Academics. National Basket ball Association (NBA) opened a net work of tution based basketball development programmes around the world open to International male and female players ages 6-18. The first NBA Basket ball school launched in Mumbai 9 April 2017.


MD Tomar appointed India’s Ambassador to Germany:

Mukta Dutta Tomar was appointed as new India’s Ambassador to Germany. Tomar, a 1984 batch IFS officer. She is presently working as the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). She is expected to take up the assignment shortly. Earlier, Gurjit Singh was holding this post till in March 2017. Tomar succeded Gurjit Singh.
