Former MP K.V.R. Chowdary passes away

Former MP Dr. Kantipudi Veera Raghava Chowdary popularly known as Dr. KVR Chowdary, former Member of Parliament from Rajahmundry constituency, passed away on 13 February 2013 in Hyderabad.He represented the 10th Lok Sabha in 1991 by winning on the TDP ticket.Later, he joined the Congress when the no-confidence motion was moved against Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao during 1996 in the Lok Sabha.


NGRI scientist gets fellowship

Dr. P. V. Sunder Raju, principal scientist of CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute, was awarded ‘Indo Australian Visiting Scientist Fellowship’ by Australian Academy of Sciences and Government of India to carry out advanced studies at the Centre of Excellence in Ore Deposit Research in Australia.


Former CBI Director A.P. Singh Appointed as UPSC member

On 13 February Former CBI Director Amar Pratap Singh has been appointed a member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).Mr. Singh, a 1974-batch IPS officer of Jharkhand cadre, relinquished his post as CBI Director on November 30 last after superannuating at the end of his two-year-long tenure during which he supervised some high-profile graft and crime cases, including the 2G scam.


Queen Elizabeth II named Britain’s Most Powerful

According to the BBC power list of Britain’s most influential women ,Queen Elizabeth II has been named the most powerful woman in Britain, while two Indian-origin women also found a place in the list of UK’s 100 most powerful women. Two Indian-origin women who featured among the 100 most powerful British women were Kolkata-born Pinki Lilani, founder of the Asian Women of Achievement Awards in the UK, and human rights champion and director of Liberty Shami Chakrabarti.


SBI Assistant and Stenographer phase II Final Results 2012 -2013 Declared

State Bank of India (SBI) announced Assistant and Stenographer phase II final results 2012 -2013 on 13 February. SBI Assistant and Stenographer phase II final Written examination was held on 27.05.2012 & 03.06.2012 and interviews held in December – 2012 / January – 2013.The letter to the successful candidates are being sent to the successful candidates of SBI Assistant and Stenographer phase II results 2012 -2013 by the concerned regional head offices.The offer letters to the sucessful candidates will be issued by concerned Local Head Offices of the Bank seprately.
