Moldovan Prime Minister Gaburici Resigned

Moldova’s Prime Minister Chiril Gaburuci announced his resignation after he was questioned by state prosecutors about his high school and university degrees. Gaburuci became the Prime Minister of Moldova in February 2015. He headed a pro-European government that relies on the Communist Party of Moldova. Earlier, he had been Chief Executive Officer of Azerbaijan’s mobile telecom company Moldcell until January 2015.


Sir Wesley Winfield Hall Inducted into ICC Hall of Fame

Former West Indies fast bowler Sir Wesley Winfield Hall was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. He is 80th cricketer to be inducted in the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame and 18th from West Indies. Hall played in 48 Tests from 1958 to 1969 in which he took 192 wickets, including five wickets in an innings nine times and 10 wickets in a match on one occasion. In 170 first-class matches, Hall claimed 546 wickets at an average of 26.14. In 1964-65, his 16 wickets were instrumental in guiding the West Indies to its first series win over Australia. Hall is the fourth cricketer this year to be inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame after Betty Wilson, Anil Kumble and Martin Crowe, who were inducted earlier this year during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.


Union Government Launched Migrant Resources Centre In Chennai

The Union Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) along with the Tamil Nadu Government launched the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) in Chennai. In India already there are three such MRC’ s and with the recent one in  Chennai it totals to four now in India. The first MRC was founded in Kochi, Kerala in the year 2008 by MOIA. It was followed by MRC’s at  Hyderabad (Telengana,Andhra Pradesh) , Gurgaon (Haryana) and now in chennai.The MRC will provide information, guidance, advise and counselling on all aspects of overseas employment including legal and regulatory requirements; documentation and procedures; policies; and problems faced while working aboard to intending migrants and overseas Indian workers.
