Malia Obama, Malala Yousafzai Among Time’s Most Influential Teens
US President Barack Obama’s elder daughter Malia and Pakistani girls’ education activist Malala Yousafzai have been named among the 16 most influential teens of 2013 by Time magazine.Time’s list, out on 13 November, comprises young singers, sports stars, technology and science whiz kids, authors and media icons who have become inspirations for youngsters across the world due to their spectacular achievements through their work and passion.Malala’s vocal activism for girls’ right to education made her a target of the Taliban, who shot her in the head as she was returning home in her school bus in Pakistan last year.
Veteran Journalist R.K. Mukker Died
Veteran journalist R.K. Mukker died on 13 November at Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district.He started off with The National Herald in Lucknow.He was also the Editor of Morning Echo, which was the tabloid of the Hindustan Times Group.R.K. Mukker was the founder-Editor of the Lokmat Times, which was the English daily of the Lokmat Newspaper Group, published from Maharashtra.
