Virat Kohli Becomes First Indian To Score Century Against Pakistan at World Cup 2015

Virat Kohli on 15 February returned to form in the high-stake game against Pakistan. In the process, he also became the first ever Indian cricketer to score a hundred in this ICC World Cup fixture between two arch-rivals. He reached the milestone with a single off Shahid Afridi in the 42nd over. Kohli scored 107-run off 126-balls at the Adelaide Oval, Australia.


Usain Bolt To Retire After 2017 Worlds Championships In London

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt announced that he will retire from athletics after the 2017 World Championships in London. The 28-year-old six-time Olympic gold medalist also said that he will focus on the 100metres in 2017. Usain Bolt is widely regarded as the fastest person ever. He is the first man to hold both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records since fully automatic time measurements became mandatory in 1977.

* Six Olympic gold medals – 100m, 200m & 4x100m – Beijing 2008; 100m, 200m & 4x100m – London 2012

Tessy Thomas and Geeta Varadan Selected For Dr.Y. Nayudamma Memorial Award 2014

The prestigious Dr Y Nayudamma Memorial Award 2014 will be conferred on Dr Tessy Thomas, Director, Advanced Systems Laboratory, DRDO and Geeta Varadan, Director, Advanced Data Processing Research Institute, ISRO. The award is being conferred on them jointly for their significant contributions in the fields of missile technology and remote sensing.
