World Heritage Day was Observed On 18 April 2015

The world on 18 April 2015 celebrated the World Heritage Day to celebrate the International Day for Monuments and Sites. The 2015 World Heritage Day also marked 50th anniversary of ICOMOS. The first world Heritage Day was celebrated on 18 April 1982 by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in Tunisia and was approved in 1983 by UNESCO. World Heritage Day or the International Day for Monuments and Sites is observed with an aim to encourage local communities and individuals throughout the world to consider the importance of cultural heritage in their lives, identities and communities. It is also aimed to promote awareness of its diversity and vulnerability and the efforts required to protect and conserve it. The day generally is celebrated across the world by organizing several events like exhibitions, excursions, scientific conferences and symposia, photography competitions, excursions and others.


Indian Economy To Grow at 7.5 Percent In 2015

Global Rating Agency Moody’s forecasted that Indian economy will grow at 7.5 percent in 2015. This growth rate is marginally higher compared with 7.2 percent in 2014. As per the report, India’s economy is on a cyclical upswing and forward-looking indicators suggest domestic demand is gathering momentum.


Shah Rukh Khan Won Asian Award In London

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan won an Outstanding Contribution to Cinema honour in London at the fifth annual The Asian Awards, where he was seen partying with the likes of One Direction’s former band member Zayn Malik. The Asian Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals born in or with direct origin from across pan-Asia in all disciplines of life — from business and the arts, to sport and public service. Previous winners in the cinema category include, Irrfan Khan, Anupam Kher and Yash Chopra.
