Indian-Origin Nurse To Be Honoured In Singapore

Dr Subadhra Devi Rai, a nurse and a senior lecturer at the School of Health Sciences (Nursing) at Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore, was named for the 2015 International Achievement Award by the Florence Nightingale International Foundation (FNIF) of the International Council of Nurses.Rai was selected as the recipient of the award for her outstanding work in the health of women and refugees.


Tata Steel Won Prime Minister’s Trophy For 8th Time

Tata Steel was conferred with the Prime Minister’s Trophy on 2 April at Rourkela for being the ‘Best Performing Integrated Steel Plant’ in the country during the performance year 2010 – 2011. In recognition of the Company’s outstanding performance, the Prime Minister’s Trophy was presented by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, to T V Narendran, Managing Director, India & South East Asia, Tata Steel. The Company was adjudged as the best steel plant for the eighth time since this trophy was instituted in 1992-93.


McCullum Received Sir Richard Hadlee Medal

New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has been named the winner of the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal for 2014-15. McCullum won the award for his remarkable performance both as a player and the captain during the 2014-15 season. The highest cricketing honour of New Zealand was presented to him during the New Zealand Cricket (NZC) Awards presentation ceremony held in New Zealand’s capital Auckland.
