PM Narendra Modi Launched Clean India Campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2 October launched his ‘Swachh Bharat’ or ‘Clean India’ campaign in Delhi. The campaign is to have a mass movement to realise Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a Clean India by 2019, when the country will celebrate 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation.


Mary Kom Wins Asian Games Gold In Incheon

MC Mary Kom has become the first Indian woman boxer to win a gold medal at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. She defeated Zhaina Shekerbekova of Kazakhstan in the finals of the women’s flyweight category (48-51kg). This is India’s seventh gold at Incheon.


Justice GS Singhvi Appointed As Chairman of COMPAT

Justice GS Singhvi, who retired from the Supreme Court in December 2013, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Competition Appellate Tribunal (COMPAT). The appointment was made following the retirement of Justice V.S. Sirpurkar, who was also a former judge of the Supreme Court.


 Election Commission Launched Video Game Titled ‘Get Set Vote’

The Election Commission (EC) launched a video game titled ‘Get Set Vote’ as part of a series of edutainment material on voter awareness and education. The game has been created to broadly engage citizens of all age groups to learn about democracy and the electoral process. The video game, which can be played using the keyboard, gives out information and interesting details through 10 levels of mazes.


Indian Hockey Team Won The Gold Medal At The 17th Asian Games

Indian men’s hockey team won the gold medal at the 17th Asian Games after defeating defending champion Pakistan in the final match. Also Indian team secured berth for upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics. This win ended India’s 16 year long for the Asian Games Gold medal in Hockey.
