Nanda Kumar Sai Appointed as Chairman of NCST

BJP veteran and tribal leader from Chhattisgarh, Nanda Kumar Sai, has been appointed as Chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST). Sai will take oath on February 28 at New Delhi. A veteran tribal leader, who was state BJP president during undivided Madhya Pradesh, was the first leader of the opposition in the Chhattisgarh assembly after the state was carved out in the year 2000.


Khajuraho Dance Festival to be begin in Madhya Pradesh

One of the famous cultural events of India, Khajuraho Festival grabs attention of every traveller in the month of February. Khajuraho Festival is Organized by the”Kala Parishad” under the Madhya Pradesh Government, where by many popular classical dancers from all over India perform. The aim to hold this festival is to promote the cultural, heritage of India.


RBI increases with drawal amount Rs.50,000 per week

The Reserve Bank of India issued on January 30, 2017 and announced the weekly limit on withdrawal of cash from savings bank accounts will be increased to Rs.50,000 from the current Rs.24,000 from February 20, 2017. The limit will be removed from March 13, till there is no limit on current account and there is a cap of 50,000 for farmers a week and 2.5 lack for marriage.


31st State Hood Day of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram 20 February

On 20 February 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted people of two states Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on their 31st state hood day. Conveying his best wishes and prayed for the two states progress immensely in the years to come. Union Minister Rajnath Singh greeted the states. Rajnath is expected to attend the ‘Arunachal Pradesh statehood day’ function in Itanagar.


Former CJI Altamas Kabir passes away

Former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Altamas Kabir passes away on 19 February at the Kolkata Hospital. In March 2005, Justice Altamas Kabir was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court. After that he was being elevated as a judge in the supreme court in September the same year. Justice Kabir appointed as the CJI on September 29 in 2012. He held the office till July 18, 2013.
