India Won Five Medals at 45th International Physics Olympiad (IPHO2014)

The Indian Contingent has won five medals in 45th International Physics Olympiad ( IPHO2014) held in Astana, Kazakhstan from 13 – 22 July 2014. India has won 2 gold medals and 3 silver medals in the Olympiad. 84 countries participated with 374 of the brightest students from across the world in the competition. Aniket Bajpai ( Maharashtra) and Chitraang Murdia (Rajasthan) won gold medals while Bure Vidya Sagar Nadin, Srikakulam( AP) Gurukirat Singh Bajwa, Hoshiarpur (Punjab) and Rupanshu Ganvir ( Maharashtra ) secured silver medals. The 45th International Physics Olympiad (IPHO2014) was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan. The International Physics Olympiad is held every year as a competition among the high school students.


Ram Naik Sworn In As UP Governor

Veteran BJP leader and former Union Minister Ram Naik on 22 July took over as the new Governor of Uttar Pradesh. Naik, the 27th Governor of the State, was sworn in at the Raj Bhavan by Allahabad High Court Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud. Ram Naik succeeds BL Joshi, who resigned last month.
