Defence Ministry Identified Four Strategic Rail Lines Along Indo-China Border

The Defence Ministry has identified four strategic rail lines along the Indo-China border. These are the 378 kilometre long Missamari – Tenga – Tawang and 227 kilometre long Pasighat -Tezu -Rupai projects, both in Arunachal Pradesh. The other two strategic lines are the 498 kilometre-long Bilaspur- Manali -Leh in Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir and 249-kilometre long North Lakhimpur-Along-Silapathar in Assam. No strategic railway line along Pakistan border has been identified by the Defence Ministry. After the approval of Defence Ministry, Railway Ministry will carry out the final location survey at a cost of Rs 345 crore.


Jyotsna Suri Is new FICCI President

Jyotsna Suri, chairperson of Bharat Hotels Ltd took over as the new President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) at the industry chamber’s 87th annual general meeting. Suri succeeded Sidharth Birla.


Gujarat To Host 13th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that Gujarat will host 13th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) from 7 January 2015 to 9 January 2015. The 13th edition of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) will mark the 100th year of Mahatma Gandhi’s return to India from South Africa.The chief guest of the 13th PBD would be Guyana President Donald Ramotar.
