Malala Yousafzai Received 2014 Liberty Medal

Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai received the 2014 Liberty Medal at the National Constitution Centre in Philadelphia. She was honoured with the award for her continued demonstration of courage and resilience in the face of adversity and for serving as a powerful voice for those who have been denied their basic human rights and liberties.


Marin Cilic Won Kremlin Cup

Marin Cilic of  Croatia  won the Kremlin Cup ATP title in Moscow. He defeated Roberto Bautista-Agut of Spain in the final. Cilic became the first Croatian to win the Moscow ATP 250 tournament since his coach Goran Ivanisevic beat Yevgeny Kafelnikov in 1996.


Chennai Among Top 10 Cities In The World To Visit In 2015

Chennai has been named among the top 10 cities to visit this year by a leading global travel guide with the list being topped by US’ capital Washington. Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2015 has come out with a list of top 10 destinations in different categories such as best countries to visit, best regions to visit, best cities to visit and many more such guiding lists for travel. In the category of top 10 cities, Chennai has been ranked ninth, ahead of Canada’s Toronto. Washington has been named as the best city to visit this year, followed by Argentinian city of El Chalten, Italy’s Milan and Switzerland’s Zermatt.
