Kaptan Singh Solanki Sworn In As Haryana Governor
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kaptan Singh Solanki was on 27 July sworn-in as the Governor of Haryana. He was administered the oath of office by acting Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Ashutosh Mohunta at Haryana Raj Bhavan.Solanki, a BJP Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh and former college professor, succeeded Jagannath Pahadia whose five- year term ended on 26 July 2014.
CAG Shashi Kant Sharma Takes Over As Member of UN Board of Auditors
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Shashi Kant Sharma assumed office as Member of the United Nations Board of Auditors for a six year term upto June 2020. Shashi Kant Sharma took over the charge of this prestigious position from Liu Jiayi, the Auditor General of the People’s Republic of China at the United Nations Headquarters at New York. He was elected to this position defeating Philippines by a margin of 62 votes in November 2013.
