Australia Won ICC Cricket World Cup For 5th time

Australia won the ICC World Cup 2015 on 29 March 2015 by defeating New Zealand in the final by 7 wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). This was the 5th ODI cricket World Cup title for Australia thus further cementing its reputation of being the most dominant team in ODI cricket. Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc was named the Player of the Tournament who finished with a figure of 22 wickets in the tournament.On the other hand Australian all-rounder James Faulkner was named man-of-the-match for his devastating spell which helped set up a seven-wicket victory for Australia. Previously, Australia had won the Cricket World Cup in 1987, 1999, 2003 and 2007.

Saina Nehwal and Srikanth Won India Open Super Series Titles

Indian shuttlers, Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth won the women’s and men’s singles titles of the 275000 dollar India Open Super Series badminton tournament.The newly crowned World No. 1 Saina Nehwal defeated former World Champion Ratchanok Intanon (Thailand) by 21-16, 21-14 to won her maiden India Open title. Second-seeded K. Srikanth, on the other hand, defeated World No. 6 Viktor Axelsen (Denmark ) by 18-21, 21-13, 21-12 to win the men’s title. The title win of both these Indian players this reinforced their status among the strongest non-Chinese players in the world.

Sebastian Vettel Won The Malaysian Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel (Germany) won the Malaysian Grand Prix, the second F1 GP race of 2015 season on 29 March. Ferrari team’s Sebastian Vettel ended Mercedes’ long Formula One winning streak by winning the Malaysian Grand Prix held at the Sepang International Circuit. Lewis Hamilton (Britain) of Mercedes took second place while his German teammate Nico Rosberg was third. Mercedes had won the previous eight races dating back to last season and had been expected to dominate through 2015. It was Ferrari’s first victory since the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix.
