Vikram Misri appointed India’s next ambassador to China
Ambassador of India to Myanmar, Vikram Misri has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to China, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. Mr Misri, a 1989 batch IFS officer, is expected to take up the assignment shortly.


High Level Committee Constituted on Corporate Social Responsibility
A High Level Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility – 2018 (HLC-2018) has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri. Injeti Srinivas, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to review the existing framework and guide and formulate the roadmap for a coherent policy on Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR).

World Heart Day takes place on 29th September every year and is the World Heart Federation and the world’s biggest platform for raising awareness about cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke. It was launched in 2000 by the World Heart Federation as an annual event.

Noted Marathi writer Kavita Mahajan passes away at 51
Renowned Marathi writer, novelist and translator Kavita Mahajan, died following pneumonia in Pune, Maharashtra. She was 51 years old. She was born in Nanded, Maharashtra. Some of her popular novels are Brr, Bhinna, etc. She had won Sahitya Akademi translation award in 2011 and Shashikalatai Agashe Award for Children’s Literature in 2013.


Maharashtra names Raam-Laxman for Lata Mangeshkar award
The Maharashtra government‘s prestigious ‘Lata Mangeshkar Award’ for 2018 will be conferred on Vijay Patil, of the music director duo Raam-Laxman.The annual award is declared on the birthday of the legendary singer, Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar.
