Raninder Singh re-elected president of National Rifle Association of India

Raninder Singh was on 06 April 2013 re-elected unopposed as the president of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).Raninder is holding the post since December 29, 2010.D.V.S. Rao, earlier the joint secretary general, was elected unopposed as the new secretary general.


7.1 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Indonesia

A powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit the Papua province in Indonesia on 06 April 2013.But there was no damage or injuries. It occurred in a north east to Capital of Papua province, about 75 kilometers (46 miles) in depth.


India and Tanzania Signed Agreement To Explore Mineral Wealth

On 6 April India and Tanzania have signed an agreement for forging an alliance to explore mineral wealth in the African nation.The agreenebt was signed by the Union Minister of Steel, Beni Prasad Verma and Sospeter Muhongo, the Minister of Energy and Minerals, United Republic of Tanzania at Der es Salaam.


Nanjappa wins bronze in men’s 10m air pistol at World Cup

India’s Prakash Nanjappa won a bronze medal in the men’s 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup at Changwon, Korea on 06 April 2013.This is Nanjappa’s first ever medal in an ISSF competition. He had also finished eighth at the men’s 50 metre pistol final. He scored 180.2 points.The gold was won by Vietnam’s Xuan Vinh Hoang, the 2012 Asian champion, with a total score of 200.8 points while the silver went to China’s Wang Zhiwei, the 2012 Olympic bronze medallist, who shot 200.1.
