A.K. Verma Appointed As New CBI Chief

Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Kumar Verma was appointed director of CBI on January 20. Verma’s name was cleared by a three-member selection panel headed by PM Narendra Modi and Comprising Chief Justice of India J.S. Kehar and Congress leader in Lok Sabha, Mallikharjuna Kharge as members. At present Gujarat-Cadre IPS officer Rakesh Asthana is the acting director of CBI
