NASA has extended an invitation to eclipse viewers from around America to participate in a nationwide science experiment by collecting cloud and air temperature data and reporting it through their phones during US total Solar eclipse. The invitation is being extended under the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) programme. The programme is a NASA-supported research and education program that aims to encourage students and citizen scientists to collect and analyze environmental observations.
