Shri Sailesh assumed Charge as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs
Shri Sailesh, IAS, Assam-Meghalaya Cadre,took charge as the Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs. He will also hold the post of Secretary, Department of Official Language as an additional charge.

India & Bangladesh sign MOU for training 1800 Bangladesh civil servants
India and Bangladesh have signed an MOU for training 1800 Bangladesh Civil Servants under Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DAR&PG). The Mou was signed between the NCGG and the Ministry of Public Administration, and Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh for the tenure of 6 years.


Himachal pegs growth at 7.3% this fiscal
Himachal Pradesh’s economic growth is expected to be 7.3 per cent this fiscal and its per capita income is estimated at Rs 1,76,968. The economic growth was 6.5 per cent in the previous fiscal, the highest in three years. The per capita income at current prices witnessed an increase of 7.8 percent as it rose to Rs 1,60,711 in 2017-18 from Rs 1,49,028 in 2016-17.


YES Bank wins Data Science Innovation Award
YES BANK has been announced as the winner of the 9th edition of Aegis Graham Bell Award 2018 for its ‘Yes Engage Enrich Excel (EEE)’ project in data science. YES EEE program is an industry-first analytics tool that aids the Bank’s relationship managers with top three talking points to engage with their customers. Aegis Graham Bell Award has been promoting innovations and entrepreneurship in the ICT domain.


Dinkar Gupta takes over charge of DGP Punjab
Dinkar Gupta has taken over the charge of Director General of the Punjab Police. He took over the charge as DGP from Suresh Arora at a simple ceremony at the Punjab Police headquarters at Chandigarh. Previously, Gupta was posted as Director General of Police, Intelligence, Punjab.


Vidharbha lift Ranji Trophy for second time in a row
Vidarbha lifted their second successive Ranji Trophy title with a comfortable 78-run win over Saurashtra. Left arm spinner, Sarwate was adjudged man of the match. Vidarbha is only the sixth team in the tournament’s long history to have defended the title.


Oscar-Nominated British Actor Albert Finney Passes Away
Oscar-nominated British actor Albert Finney passed away peacefully after a short illness. He aged 82. He was a five-time Oscar nominee who began his career at the Royal Shakespeare Company before making his mark in film. His big film break came as “angry young man” Arthur Seaton in Saturday Night and Sunday Morning.
