Mufti Mohammed Sayeed Sworn In as J&K Chief Minister

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mufti Mohammed Sayeed was sworn in as the 12th Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).This is the second time  Sayeed will be heading a coalition government. In 2002, he led a PDP-Congress alliance and was Chief Minister for three years.


Kannan Ramesh Appointed as Judicial Commissioner To Singapore Supreme Court

Indian-origin lawyer Kannan Ramesh has been appointed as a Judicial Commissioner to Singapore’s Supreme Court bench for two years.He will assume office from 22 May 2015 and have tenure of two years.


Arun K Singh To Be India’s Next Ambassador To The US

Arun Kumar Singh, a 1979 batch Indian Foreign Service officer, has been named ambassador to the United States in place of S Jaishankar, who took over as foreign secretary on 28 January 2015. Arun Singh first assignment abroad was at the Indian Embassy Moscow from 1981-1982. He has served at the Indian Missions in Addis Ababa and in Tokyo. He also has served as joint secretary in-charge to Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan division in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Singh also has served at the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations Office, New York (1993-1997) as Counsellor and had handled multilateral social and economic negotiations.
