S Ramesh appointed as Chairman of CBIC
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has appointed S Ramesh, member of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) as its next Chairman. He will succeed present chairman Vanaja N. Sarna who retires in June 2018.


G7 summit 2018 held in Canada
The 44th G7 summit was held on June 2018, in La Malbaie, Quebec, Canada.This was the sixth time since 1981 that Canada has hosted the meetings. The summit received significant attention due to a significant decline of relations of members with the United States. Due to this, the summit was dubbed the “G6+1” by France and some members of the media.

New Zealand cricket coach Mr. Mike Hesson resigned from his post. He has been the coach for the national team of New Zealand for 6 years.


Halep Win Maiden Grand Slam Title
World number one Simona Halep has won her first Grand Slam title with a gutsy comeback victory over American 10th seed Sloane Stephens in the French Open final. Halep, who had lost her three previous major finals, went a set and a breakdown at Roland Garros.


Ex NIA chief Sharad Kumar appointed vigilance commissioner
Former NIA chief Shri Sharad Kumar has been appointed as the Vigilance Commissioner in the Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi for a term of four years from the date on which he enters upon his office, or till he attains the age of sixty five years, whichever is earlier.


Suranjan Gupta takes over as EEPC India ED-AF
Suranjan Gupta has taken charge as the Executive Director & Secretary of EEPC India. Suranjan Gupta succeeds Bhaskar Sarkar. He joined EEPC India in 2006.


Anu Kumar wins 800m gold at Asian Junior Athletics Championships
Indian athletes added three more medals to their tally on the third day of the 2018 Junior Asian Athletics Championships with a gold and two bronze in Gifu, Japan. With a single day of competition remaining, Indian athletes have won three gold medals, one silver and nine bronze medals.
