R.K. Dubey is Canara Bank CMD

R.K. Dubey,had been appointed the Chairman and Managing Director of Canara Bank on 11 January 2013.Dubey joined Punjab National Bank in 1977 as a management trainee and moved up the ranks to become a general manager in 2008 and was appointed as executive director of Central Bank of India in 2010.


Central Bank of India appoints executive director

Central Bank of India has announced that R K Dubey, executive director has ceased to be the director of the bank with effect from 11 January 2013, upon elevation as chairman and managing director of Canara Bank.Further, Raj Kumar Goyal, general manager of Bank of India has joined the Central Bank as executive director with effect from 11 January 2013.


Largest Space structure in the Universe:Large Quasar Group

An international team lead by astronomer Roger Clowes of the University of Central Lancashire in England discovered the largest known structure in the universe, a clump of active galactic cores that stretches 4 billion light-years from end to end.This is the largest Space structure in the Universe.This structure is known as a “Large Quasar Group(LQG)”.


Soumyajit Ghosh becomes youngest national table tennis championship

India’s number one player Soumyajit Ghosh on 11 January 2013 became the youngest national champion after he defeated six-time winner Achanta Sharath Kamal in the summit clash of the 74th National Table Tennis Championships. In the women doubles K. Spoorthy and Nikhat Banu (AP) beat Madhurika Patkar and Pooja Sahasrabudhe (Pet) 14-12, 3-11, 11-7, 11-5 in the final and got the title.


President Released Stamps on Swami Vivekananda

On 12 January The President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee released the Commemorative Postage Stamps, at the Commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, in New Delhi .
