Rana Kapoor re appointed as MD & CEO
Private sector lender YES Bank has re-appointed Rana Kapoor as MD & CEO of the bank for a period of three years. The decision was taken at the 14th annual general meeting of the shareholders of the bank.


Mobile Banking rank by SBI’s annual report

At 17.2%, Axis Bank commands the largest value share of mobile banking transactions but it’s Paytm that tops volumes with 22%. However, Paytm’s value share is a meagre 0.25%, according to State Bank of India’s (SBI) annual report for 2017-18 which has put out RBI’s data for January 2018.


KVIC created a world record

KVIC has created a world record of distributing maximum number of bee-boxes in one day. Two thousand three hundred thirty (2330) bee-boxes were distributed among 233 beneficiaries in the Zangalee Army area. The ‘Honey Mission’ is aimed to fulfil the call of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for a ‘Sweet Kranti’.


Murali became 2nd fastest Indian in 10,000 m

Young long-distance runner Gavit Murali Kumar bagged a gold in men’s 10,000 m race at the Gouden Spike meeting in Leiden, Netherlands. He became the second fastest Indian in this event.


Inder Jit Singh appointed as coal secretary

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the appointment of Inder Jit Singh as the coal secretary. Inder Jit Singh is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1985 batch of Kerala cadre. He was the additional secretary, coordination in the cabinet secretariat.

The 21st edition of the FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia. Hosts Russia will take on Saudi Arabia. Russia and Saudi Arabia are placed in Group-A. The game will take place in the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

Noted social reformer & founder of Sulabh International Bindeshwar Pathak was honoured with Japan’s prestigious ‘Nikkei Asia Prize for Culture and Community’. The award honours people in Asia who have made significant contributions in one of the three areas: regional growth; science, technology and innovation; and culture and community.
