Apple appoints Nokia veteran Ashish Chowdhary as its India operation head
Apple appointed Ashish Chowdhary as its India operation head. Ashish Chowdhary is Chief Customer Operations Officer at Nokia Networks. He will leave Nokia Networks at the end of 2018. He will take charge as Apple’s India operation head in January 2019. He has 25 years of international experience in the enterprise and telecom sectors.


Vinod Dasari, CEO & MD of Ashok Leyland, steps down
Vinod Dasari announced his decision to resign from the company citing personal reasons. The company Board in its meeting accepted his resignation. The Board has meanwhile called upon Dheeraj Hinduja to step in as executive chairman (EC) with immediate effect.


Home Ministry says over 18 lakh foreigners visited India this year on e visa
Home Ministry said that around 18 lakh foreigners visited India on electronic visas this year. The highest number of visitors (2,92,143) were from the U.K., followed by the U.S. (2,21,339), China (1,27,022), France (1,07,185) and Germany (89,863). Over 17 lakh foreigners visited India on e-visa in 2017. $137,527,270 [Rs. 993 crore approx] has been received as e-visa fees this year.


Government to issue Rs 75 coin to Mark 75th anniversary of Tricolour Hoisting
The Ministry of Finance issued a notification regarding the release of the Rs 75 coin to commemorate 75th anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose hoisting the Tricolour for the first time at Port Blair in Andaman Nicober Islands.


UP cabinet approves renaming of Faizabad as Ayodhya, Allahabad as Prayagraj
Uttar Pradesh Government has approved renaming of Faizabad and Allahabad divisions as Ayodhya and Prayagraj respectively. The decision was taken at meeting of state cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in state capital Lucknow. Now, the proposal will now go to Central before the city is officially renamed.

ISRO successfully launch GSLV Mk III-D2 carrying GSAT-29 satellite
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its latest communication satellite GSAT-29, which was put in Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit by India’s 5th generation heavy-lift rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III D2 (GSLV-Mk III D2).


ICC Rankings: Virat Kohli, remain on top of ODI table
India captain Virat Kohli and premier fast bowler Jasprit Burah maintained their top positions respectively in the latest ICC ODI ranking. Kohli remained in pole position with 899 points while limited overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma remained second in the list.
