Bangladesh Celebrates 43rd Anniversary Of Victory Day
Bangladesh on 16 December celebrated the 43rd anniversary of its victory over the Pakistani forces in 1971 War of Liberation in which about three million people were killed. On this day, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid their homage to the 1971 Liberation War martyrs at the National Memorial in Bangladesh. The day was celebrated with 31-gun salute at National Parade Ground in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Bangladesh. Many leaders of Bangladesh and diplomats of many countries also paid their homage to the martyrs.
McIlroy Named The European Tour Golfer Of The Year
Rory McIlroy has been named The 2014 Race to Dubai European Tour Golfer of the Year, collecting the prestigious award for the second time in three years following an extraordinary season. Earlier he won the award in 2012. Currently, he is the World Number One and a four-time major champion. His major triumphs in 2014 came at the 143rd British Open Championship and US PGA Championship, the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the BMW PGA Championship, the European Tour’s flagship event.
Haryana To Set Up Kalpana Chawla Medical University
The Haryana government has decided to set up the largest medical university of the State in Karnal, the home town of famous U.S. astronaut Kalpana Chawla, one of its most celebrated daughters.The village panchayat has given 100 acres of land for it.
