Andreas Goss is appointed as CEO of Thyssenkrupp Tata Steel B.V
Andreas Goss is appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Thyssenkrupp Tata Steel B.V., the proposed joint venture (JV) between Tata Steel and Thyssenkrupp. Mr.Goss is currently the CEO of Thyssenkrupp’s steel division.


Maldives President arrives in India
Maldives new President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih arrived in New Delhi on a three-day state visit during which he will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. Solih, who surprisingly defeated Maldivian strongman Abdulla Yameen in polls in September, arrived in New Delhi on his first foreign visit after assuming office and was received by Union minister Hardeep S Puri.


Ramphal Pawar appointed as Director of NCRB
The government of India appointed Ramphal Pawar as Director of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). He is the former Joint Secretary of NATGRID. He is the Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from West Bengal cadre.


Miss Philippines Catriona Gray crowned Miss Universe 2018
Miss Philippines Catriona Gray was crowned Miss Universe after she won the final round of the Miss Universe 2018 pageant, held in Bangkok. Outgoing Miss Universe Demi Leigh Nel Peters from South Africa crowned her successor.


Joshna Chinappa wins National Squash Women’s Singles Title
Joshna Chinappa won the National Squash Women’s Singles title after she defeated Urwashi Joshi in the final match of the competition by 9-11, 11-1, 11-6, 11-5. It was her 16th National title and with this win, she has equalled the record of Bhuvaneshwari Kumari of winning 16 titles.


Ashok Amritraj was honoured with the French Knight of the National Order of Merit award
Producer Ashok Amritraj was honoured with the French Knight of the National Order of Merit for his contribution to the world of cinema and Indo-French film industry. The award was presented to him at the Closing ceremony of 2 day Indo-French Professional Meeting for the Film and Television Industry held in Mumbai, India.


Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep named 2018 ITF world champions
The International Tennis Federation announced that Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Romania’s Simona Halep as the 2018 ITF World Champions.The ITF World Champions will receive their awards at the 2019 ITF World Champions Dinner, in Paris, during Roland Garros.


Malayalam film director Ajayan passes away
Ajayan, noted filmmaker and director of classic Malayalam movie Perumthachan, passed away at Thiruvananthapuram. Ajayan had directed the movie Perumthachan, scripted by MT Vasudevan Nair, in 1990. He won both the national award for debutant director and state award for debutant director for the movie. Also Perumthachan won the award for most popular movie in 1990.
