India – Morocco Tourism Bilateral meeting held in New Delhi
A bilateral meeting on Tourism Cooperation between India and Morocco led by the Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicraft and Social Economy, Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Mohamed Sajid and the Minister of State for Tourism (IC), Government of India, Shri. K. J. Alphons, held in New Delhi.


No withholding tax on interest payment of Masala Bonds
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) announced that no withholding tax will apply on interest payments made by an Indian company or a business trust to a non-resident in respect of offshore rupee-denominated bonds.

Final book of Vineet Bajpai’s Harappa trilogy launched
Kashi: Secret of the Black Temple, the final book of Vineet Bajpai’s Harappa trilogy, was launched in New Delhi. The three books in the series combine mythology, history, fantasy, crime and the modern-day thriller element. The first two books are Harappa: Curse of the Blood River and Pralay: The Great Deluge. The three books have been brought out by Bajpai’s publishing platform TreeShade Books.


Former Union Minister Satya Prakash Malviya passes away
Former Union petroleum minister Satya Prakash Malaviya passed away in Delhi. He was 84. Mr. Malaviya had served as the petroleum minister in the cabinet headed by former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar.


Centre Proposes to merge Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank & Dena Bank
The Centre proposed the merger of state-owned Bank of Baroda, Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank in order to create India’s third-largest bank. The decision was made during the ministerial panel meeting that oversees merger proposals of state-owned banks.
