Former Union Minister Murli Deora Died

Senior Congress leader and Former Union minister Murli Deora was died on 24 November in Mumbai. He held several important positions during his long political career. During the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government, he served as the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology. He was first time elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2002 from Maharashtra and since then had completed two terms. At present, he was serving his third term. He was elected to the Lok Sabha three times (1984, 1989 and 1991) from Mumbai South, a seat later held by his son, Milind, who is also a former MP and ex Union minister. He first contested the Lok Sabha polls from Mumbai South constituency in 1980.


Lewis Hamilton Won F1 2014 Drivers’ Championship

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain clinched his second drivers’ World Championship with a comfortable victory in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The 2008 champion became only the fourth Briton to win two world titles. He joins a number of other drivers on two titles, including his great contemporary rival Fernando Alonso. Michael Schumacher is the all-time record holder with seven, while the most successful current driver is Sebastian Vettel on four.


Terror Activities Rise In India by 70 Percent

According to the Global Terrorism Index 2014, prepared by Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), Terror activities in India have increased by 70 per cent during 2012-2013 with the number of deaths rising from 238 to 404, most of which were caused by Naxals. The number of attacks also increased with 55 more incidents in 2013 than in 2012.
