President Pranab Mukherjee Launched Country’s First Mobile Governance Platform
The President of India Pranab Mukherjee launched the country’s first and the world’s largest multi-mode mobile governance platform – Mobile One – offering over 4,000 services from both the government and private sectors to the citizens in Bengaluru on 8 December. Pranab Mukherjee launched the Karnataka’s initiative of unified mobile platform at the Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in the presence of State Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala.
Pranav Mistry Named Samsung Electronics Vice President
Indian-Born Pranav Mistry has been appointed as the global Vice-President of the South Korean electronic major Samsung.He is currently working as the Vice-President of Samsung’s US research unit in the Silicon Valley and heads its Think Tank team.
Parliament Passed Bill For Amending SC List
Parliament on 8 December passed a constitutional amendment bill to add more communities to the existing list of Scheduled Castes in many states. The Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2014, which was earlier approved by the Lok Sabha, was passed by the Rajya Sabha on 8 December. The bill adds more communities in the list of Scheduled Castes in the states of Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Tripura. It removes the Majhi community from the list in Sikkim.
