India’s First Electric Cab Fleet to be launched in Nagpur

India’s first electric cab fleet is going to be launched in Nagpur from the 26th of May 2017. With India’s pledge to go all electric by 2030, this is a good way to get things rolling. Union Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari, had earlier said that the trial of the electric radio cabs will begin from 24th of May 2017 but now that has been postponed by two days to coincide with the three year completion of the Narendra Modi Government. With this Nagpur will be the first city in the country to adopt electric cabs.


International Day of Families 15 May

The International Day of Families is Observed on the 15th May every year. This year’s Observance on the focuses role of families and family oriented policies in promoting education and overall well-being of their members. In Particular, the day is to raise awareness of the role of families in promoting early childhood education and lifelong learning opportunities for children and youth. This holiday was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1993. The first observation took place on May 15, 2017.


Lewis Hamilton Wins Spanish Grand prix

Lewis Hamilton cut Sebastian Vettel’s lead at the top of the Formula one drivers standings to six points as he won the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton will start at pole position after edging out Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel by just. 0.051 seconds Spanish Grand Prix is a Formula one motor race which is one of the oldest of its kind in the world. He is a three time Formula one World Champion.


Former puducherry CM S. Ramaswamy passes Away

Former Puducherry Chief Minister S. Ramaswamy passed away in Puducherry after a brief illness. He was 80. He was Home Minister in the DMK-CPT Coalition Ministry for a brief period. He was also the Chief Minister in the AIADMK Government in 1977, which lasted in office for a little over one year. He successfully contested as Independent from Karaikal in 1985 and 1990. Ramaswamy joined in Congress Party in 1992.


North Korea missile test way “new type of ballistic rocket”

North Korea has claimed that the  missile Hwasong – 12 it tested on 15 May, 20107 was a new type of rocket capable of carrying a large nuclear warhead. The missile, launched at a steep angle, reached an altitude of 2111.5 km (1312 miles) and travelled about 787 km (490 miles), landing in the sea west of Japan. North Korea is believed to be developing an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and reaching the main lands in USA.
