Kejriwal, Venkaiah Naidu flag off Delhi Metro Heritage Line

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Urban Development Minister, M. Venkaiah Naidu on 28 May, 2017 flagged off Delhi Metro Heritage Line through video conferencing at Metro Bhavan in Delhi. Union Minister of Science and Technology. Harsh Vardhan was also present at the event. This Heritage line will connect Old Delhi Areas with the commercial hub of Delhi at Janpath. This Heritage line comprises four stations Delegate,Kashmere Gate, Jama Masjid and Lal Qila on the stretch of 5.17 km.


 Apple opens first official store in South east Asia

Apple opened its first Southeast Asia store in Singapore on 27 May, 2017. It was drawing hundreds of excited fans to the swanky two stores site in the city’s up market shopping district. Located on the affluent Orchard Road, the new shop easily distinguished by its iconic glass facade is expected to be one of the most popular Apple stores in the World according to US tech giant. Merchandise  such as the iPhone and Mac book were strategically  placed on display across the spacious first floor, while the upper level acted as a classroom for customers to participate in hands on sessions.


 Bhavani Devi win Gold in International Fencing Tournament

India’s Fencing Player Chadalavada Bhavani Devi has become first Indian to win a Gold Medal in an International fencing tournament. She has won the gold medal sabre event of the Tournoi Satellite Fencing Championship held at Reykjavik in Iceland. In the final, she beat Sarah Jane Hampson of Great Britain with 15-13 points. Chadalavada Bhavani Devi is a sabre fencer from Chennai. She had Previously won silver medal in another event.


 Researchers discover glass frog in Ecuador

The newly discovered glass frog was found in the Amazonian lowlands of Ecuador. It was so translucent you can see its heart. The remarkable frog, whose beating heart can be seen right through its chest. It has dark green spots on its back, and red heart that can be seen through chest. Scientists have placed the newly discovered frog in the genus Hyalinobatrachium, which are known to share some of its extraordinary traits.


 PM Modi lays Foundation Stone for IARI at Gogamukh

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the Foundation  Stone of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute at Gogamukh in Assam’s Dhemaji district located on the Assam Arunachal border. This will be the third Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) Apart from IARI in the national capital, the work on setting up of second IARI in Ranchi, Jharkhand has commenced. The setting up of a new institute in envisaged to help in the overall development of agriculture sector in North – East India.
