In India, National Teachers Day is celebrated on September 5th to honor Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Birthday. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan a great scholar, philosopher, and teacher of modern India and was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954. He became the first Vice President of India (from 1952 to 1962) and the second President of India (from 1962 to 1967).  Since 1962, India has commemorated his birth anniversary. Teachers Day is an occasion to pay reverence to the teachers and convey them that they hold special respect in our hearts. Celebrating Teachers Day is acknowledged by UNESCO and fairly popular in several countries across the globe.
