Former Karnataka High Court Judge Justice P. Vishwanath Shetty was on 28 January sworn in as the state’s new Lokayukta. The anti-corruption watch dog, by Governor Vajubhai R. Vala in Bengaluru. The post he remained vacant since. Y. Bhaskar Rao resigned in December 2015 following bribery scandal. Shetty’s appointment was cleared by governor.
